The 2nd Annual ‘Know Your Rights’ Forum Approaches!

 IN HONOR OF LATINO HERITAGE MONTH DALLAS HISPANIC BAR ASSOCIATION HOSTS FREE BILINGUAL FORUM TO EDUCATE COMMUNITY ABOUT LEGAL RIGHTS 

2ND ANNUAL DHBA CONOZCA SUS DERECHOS EVENT 

(Dallas, TX—September 20, 2011) – The Dallas Hispanic Bar Association (“DHBA”), in collaboration with the League of United Latin American Citizens Council 4871 and the Southeast Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a free bilingual community forum to educate community members regarding their legal rights in several areas of interest to the Latino community.

The Conozca Sus Derechos event will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Campus of Eastfield Community College located at 802 S. Buckner, Dallas, Texas 75217. The event is free and open to the public.

Attorneys will discuss the following legal topics:

  • immigration,
  • criminal law,
  • family law,
  • foreclosures,
  • landlord-tenant law,
  • employment rights, and
  • consumer rights.

The Conozca Sus Derechos event is a project organized by the Pro Bono Committee of the DHBA. The DHBA, formerly known as the Mexican American Bar Association of Dallas, provides a forum through which Hispanic attorneys in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex can come together to exchange ideas and to pursue common goals. The purpose of the Association is to promote the social, economic, educational, and civic advancement of the DFW Metroplex Hispanic community by making the legal system more accessible to the Hispanic community and more responsive to its needs. The DHBA is an affiliate of the Mexican-American Bar Association of Texas and the Hispanic National Bar Association.
