Human Rights Initiative’s clients include victims of human rights abuses seeking asylum in the Untied States, trafficking victims, victims of spousal or child abuse at the hands of a U. S. citizen or Permanent Resident, immigrant children that flee from violence and travel to the U.S. alone, or immigrant children that have been abused, abandoned or neglected by their family in the U.S. These are individuals who have suffered persecution in their homeland for exercising the very freedoms that we take for granted: freedom of speech, of religious practice, of political belief, of gender roles.
HRI also assists immigrants and refugees in their struggles to make the necessary lifestyle, cultural and social adjustments after experiencing trauma and loss.
