ICE Disclose Fiscal Year Results: Nearly 400,000 Deported

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported nearly 400,000 people during their last fiscal year which recently came to an end in September. This number is the highest seen in ICE history.

55% of those deported had been convicted of felonies or violations against the law in the state they they were in. Compared to 2008, the amount of people convicted for crimes has increased an 89%, however ICE did not disclose what percentage of these crimes were directly related to immigration law violations.

Two thirds of those deported had either recently crossed the border, or were repeat offenders who had been deported in the past and re-entered the country illegally.
