We cannot pretend to celebrate Black History month unless we talk about how Black lives are often overlooked in immigration spaces. The reasons are uncountable but overall, this is due to the anti-Blackness and racism embedded in every system in our society. We’re asking for justice and an immigration system that respects Black lives. Black immigrants are more likely to be detained and deported than any other immigrant group. On avg, Black migrants serve the longest length of time in detention & are 6X more likely to be placed into solitary confinement. #FamiliesBelongTogether and that includes Black families.

SO, WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Take action!
- Donate to the Black immigrant bail fund! bit.ly/3odbK4m
- Urge Biden WH to end Title 42, RMX and treat Black migrants with dignity.
- Five million dead. More than 186,000 displaced people in the last few months alone. We can’t send Congolese migrants back to these conditions back home. They need to have shelter in the U.S. @POTUS @SecMayorkas, we need #TPS4DRC. For more info: tpsdedaac.org
It is unconscionable to send back Black migrants to the dangers that they are fleeing. Tell the Biden admin it’s time to #WelcomeWithDignity. Each week, we will spotlight a different organization, so look to our social for more info!
